One Small Gift. One Big Life Change.
Hi, welcome in! I’m RJ, an architectural designer in South Carolina with a passion for design, creativity, and community. I’m searching for a kidney donor and sharing my story with the hope of finding a match and hopefully inspiring others during this journey.

My Story:
Architecture has always been how I make sense of the world—the craft of taking abstract things and giving them form. Lately, I’ve become both the architect and the blueprint, rebuilding myself piece by piece.
As my friends and family know, I’m not particularly fond of the spotlight. Sharing this part of my life feels deeply vulnerable, and finding the right words hasn’t been easy. But I’ve come to realize that you can’t receive help if you don’t ask for it.
I'm currently living with kidney failure. Dialysis keeps me going, but it's not living—it's surviving. My doctors say a transplant is the best option for me to get off dialysis and give me my life back. Not just more time, but real time. Time to channel my energy into creating again—creating architecture, fostering connection, and designing spaces where all people can live and thrive.
As I await placement on the transplant list and hope for a matching donor, I’m preparing to start home dialysis. It’s less taxing on my body and a good bridge toward a future transplant.
This new chapter feels like an opportunity to rebuild—to restore the energy to create again. To wake up with mornings that don’t feel heavy before the day even begins.
So here I am. Hoping that someone out there reading my story is willing to be a donor and might be a match. Hoping that by sharing this, I'm building a bridge to a future I can actually live in, not just get through.
Why a Living Kidney Donor Matters
Better Outcomes
Living donor kidneys last nearly twice as long as deceased donor kidneys, dramatically improving transplant success rates and long-term quality of life.
Shorter Wait Times
Every day, thousands wait on transplant lists facing uncertain timelines. Finding a living donor can reduce the wait from years to months, potentially saving lives.
Donors
Donors live normal lives after donating. They spend 2-3 days in the hospital and have a 4-6 week recovery after surgery. Once recovered they won't notice any difference between having one working kidney or two.

He brings joy and encouragement to everyone around him. I pray God continues to breathe life into him, so that he can continue to bless everyone who crosses his path.”
